[Saba Sports News] Nicolo Fagioli, a prominent player
for Juventus, has been suspended for 12 months and fined 12,500 euros due to
his participation in illegal betting and violation of Italy’s “Sports
Justice Code.” However, 5 months of the suspension can be replaced with
specific terms. This involves Fagioli’s mandatory enrolment in a six-month
gambling addiction treatment program and his attendance in at least 10 public
meetings organised by the Amateur Sports Association, regional football
associations, and gambling rehabilitation centres. Despite the ban, Fagioli
will not face a suspension of his salary and will still be permitted to access
Juventus’ training facilities. The suspension will conclude on May 17, 2024. If
he maintains good form, he may be eligible to participate in the final two
rounds of the league and next year’s European Championship.
