[Saba Sports News] According to reports from
Spanish media, Munoz, a former executive of the Spanish Football Association,
has recently been taken into custody by relevant authorities for investigation.
Munoz is alleged to have intervened in the disciplinary process of former La
Liga Barcelona player Sergio Busquets, with the purpose of preventing his
suspension and enabling him to participate in a Spanish national derby match.
In December 2019, Busquets had received a four-game suspension for making
controversial comments about the referee. However, with Munoz’s alleged intervention,
Busquets was still included in the Barcelona squad for the El Clasico match.
Ultimately, Busquets did not take the field, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
