Sports News] According to the latest reports from Malaysian media, Malaysian
badminton star Lee Zii Jia has reached an out-of-court settlement with his
former Indonesian coach, Indra Wijaya, regarding his early dismissal. The
specific terms of the settlement were not disclosed. However, this resolution
allows Lee Zii Jia to put the matter behind him and focus on his upcoming
badminton tour and the Paris Olympics. In November 2022, Lee Zii Jia signed a
three-year contract with Indonesian coach Indra Wijaya. However, their
collaboration lasted for less than a year before Indra Wijaya claimed that he
had been unfairly dismissed. Subsequently, Wijaya filed a lawsuit, demanding 24
months’ worth of salary from Lee Zii Jia. With the out-of-court settlement, the
two parties have decided to part ways. The editor hopes that this matter marks
the end of the dispute between Lee Zii Jia and his former coach, and they
extend their best wishes for their future endeavors. Lee Zii Jia, who is currently
ranked 11th in the world in men’s singles and has reached a career-high ranking
of second, retired from the national team in 2022 and became a free agent. He
aspires to achieve success in the Asian Championships.
