Sports News] Spanish media reports indicate that Neymar is contemplating the
possibility of saving and acquiring his childhood club, Santos. Santos, which
has fallen to Brazil’s second division and carries a debt of 130 million euros,
holds significant sentimental value for Neymar and his father. Last summer,
Neymar made a 90 million euro move from Paris Saint-Germain to Riyadh Crescent,
signing a two-year contract. Despite being sidelined by a cruciate ligament
injury for much of this season, Neymar has expressed his desire to return to
playing in Brazil and has no plans for a long stay in Saudi Arabia. Neymar’s
interest in acquiring Santos goes beyond reuniting with his former club, as he
aims to follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo, who purchased a majority stake in
his childhood club Cruzeiro for 80 million euros in 2021. Remarkably, just nine
months after Ronaldo’s acquisition, Cruzeiro regained its position in Brazil’s top
league.
