[Saba Sports News] Cricket fans are struggling with high travel and accommodation costs for the ODI World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, where India will face either South Africa or Australia. Hotel prices have skyrocketed, with some rates reaching Rs 2,15,000 per night, and flight prices have also seen a significant increase.
Many fans, both local and international, had started planning their trips months in advance, but are now facing exorbitant costs. Basic hotel rooms are now priced around Rs 10,000 per night, with luxury accommodations nearing Rs 1 lakh. This trend mirrors the price hikes seen during the India-Pakistan match in Ahmedabad.
Booking platforms like Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, and Agoda have reported increased searches for Ahmedabad stays, and Google flight data shows a 200-300% rise in round-trip flight ticket prices. Delhi to Ahmedabad flights for November 18 are over Rs 15,000. Additionally, the final match tickets are sold out on BookMyShow.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has mandated e-ticket printouts for the final, adding to the logistical challenges. Fans can collect their tickets from designated counters as per BCCI Secretary Jay Shah’s announcement.
