Sports News] According to reports from Dutch media, Ferrari chairman John
Elkann has recently lodged an appeal with the FIA (Federation Internationale
del’Automobile), and the appeal pertains to Red Bull’s champion driver Max
Verstappen. Elkann believes that there are concerns regarding Verstappen’s
first Formula 1 title in 2021, which was secured during a controversial safety
car restart. As a result, Elkann has requested an explanation from the FIA
regarding the matter. Despite raising these concerns, Elkann still praises
Verstappen and openly acknowledges him as an exceptional driver. Since winning
his first F1 championship in 2021, Verstappen has continued to excel, securing
two more championships for himself while Red Bull has maintained a dominant
position. However, there may be challenges if other teams are unable to catch
up. Verstappen, born in 1997, is considered a prodigy in Formula 1. He holds
numerous accolades, including being the youngest champion driver in F1 history.
Additionally, he has achieved financial freedom, having signed a five-year
contract with Red Bull last year, which is reportedly worth $50 million per
year, excluding his sponsors and other career earnings.
