[Saba Sports News] During the National T20 Cup match between Abbottabad and Sialkot on December 2, Pakistani batter Mirza Tahir Baig experienced a highly unusual ‘hit wicket’ dismissal. In the 12th over, facing Abbottabad spinner Yasir Shah, Baig attempted a pull shot. He lost his balance due to cramps while shifting weight to his back foot, leading to him falling onto the stumps in a rare and unfortunate dismissal.
Baig, visibly in pain, had to leave the field after scoring 38 runs off 29 balls, including three fours and two sixes, making him Sialkot’s top scorer. Sialkot, batting first after captain Shoaib Malik opted to bat, posted 119/8 in their 20 overs, with Yasir taking three wickets for Abbottabad.
In response, Abbottabad started well, with openers Sajjad Ali and Anees Azam laying a solid foundation. Sajjad Ali’s half-century helped Abbottabad reach the 120-run target with five wickets and 14 balls to spare.
Both teams now stand with one win each after two matches in the Super Eight stage, with Sialkot at No. 3 and Abbottabad at No. 4. Sialkot’s next game is against Rawalpindi, while Abbottabad faces FATA, both matches scheduled for December 3 in Karachi.
