Sports News] After Italian rider Pecco Bagnaia of the Ducati Team won the
MotoGP Valencia Grand Prix and successfully defended his title, there were
speculations that Ducati would continue with Bagnaia. However, recent news has
confirmed otherwise. Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali stated in an interview with
the media that he and Bagnaia have not yet reached an agreement on a contract
extension. This is because Bagnaia desires a five-year contract renewal.
Despite Bagnaia’s achievements, including winning consecutive MotoGP world
championships in 2022 and 2023 and being the second world champion rider from
the VR46 academy after Morbidelli, the matter of a five-year contract extension
is not a decision to be made lightly. Therefore, the team is leaning towards
extending the contract with Bagnaia for three seasons. A consensus has not been
reached yet.
