Sports News] During the 16th round of the Premier League, Manchester United
faced a 0-3 defeat at home against Bournemouth, making it the first time in the
club’s history that they lost a league match to Bournemouth at home. Notably,
even before the game concluded, well-known journalist Piers Morgan couldn’t
resist posting a picture of Erik ten Hag on social media along with the
caption, “Give Ten Hag a call for a taxi!” After the match, Morgan
responded by mocking the Manchester United coach once again, saying,
“Remember: Ten Hag drove away Cristiano Ronaldo, the greatest striker in
history, and replaced him with a guy who hasn’t scored a single goal in 12
Premier League games.” This season, Anthony and Rasmus Hojlund, whom Ten
Hag strongly supported, have made 11 and 12 appearances in the Premier League
respectively, but they have failed to find the back of the net. In contrast,
Ronaldo has scored 49 goals in 2023 after leaving Manchester United, leading
the top scoring and assists list in the Saudi League. Although Morgan’s
comments were harsh, they highlighted the current issues faced by Manchester
United.
