[Saba Sports News] The Formula One World Championship, often referred
to as F1, stands as the pinnacle of motorsport today. It holds a prestigious
status alongside other major international sporting events such as the Olympic
Games and the FIFA World Cup. F1 cars typically achieve average speeds of
around 300 kilometers per hour, with top speeds reaching 360 kilometers per
hour under specific track and weather conditions. Curiosity arises among fans
regarding the cost of running a single lap in an F1 car. The English
publication “The Sun” responded to this query by providing a rough
estimation of the expenses associated with F1 racing cars. From a financial
standpoint, each component of the car carries a price. The base cost of
assembling an F1 car capable of competing is approximately 980,000 euros.
However, this amount solely covers the creation of a functional race car.
Running the car for a full season entails additional expenditures such as spare
parts, scientific research, design, wind tunnel testing (including associated
laboratory expenses), and public and private testing. When factoring in these additional
costs, the total expenses at minimum would double. Furthermore, any damages
incurred during accidents can result in costs amounting to millions of euros.
On average, running a single lap in an F1 car can range between $30,000 and
$50,000. Undoubtedly, Formula One remains a sport for the affluent.
