[Saba Sports News] Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) held their annual event, RCB Unbox, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 19. Despite a large turnout at the venue, technical difficulties with the live streaming on the RCB app and website caused inconvenience for many fans.
To address this issue, RCB began streaming the event on their official YouTube channel, providing relief to fans who couldn’t access the original stream due to overwhelming demand.
However, on March 21, RCB took responsibility for the technical issues and announced that they would refund the INR 99 charged for the live streaming. They expressed regret for the inconvenience and assured fans of a smoother experience in future events.
“Dear RCB fan, due to extreme demand we faced issues with live streaming for RCB Unbox event. As a result, we are refunding everyone who paid for the live streaming of the event. Your refund has been processed. It must reflect in your payment account within 7 business days. Thank you for your cooperation and we will work hard to make your next experience seamless,” RCB posted on X.
During the event, RCB honored former pacer Vinay Kumar by inducting him into their Hall of Fame. Additionally, the franchise officially changed its name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, reflecting the capital city of Karnataka. They also unveiled new jerseys, opting for a dark blue shade to complement their traditional red.
A significant moment of the event was when RCB’s women’s team, led by Smriti Mandhana, received a guard of honor from the men’s team for winning the Women’s Premier League 2024. They clinched the title by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final held on March 17.
With the focus now shifting to IPL 2024, RCB fans eagerly anticipate their team’s performance. The Faf du Plessis-led side will kick off the season against defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, March 22.
