Sports News] According to British media reports, Chelsea forward Nicolas
Jackson has a history of asking his teammates for old kits and then taking it
back to his hometown. Jackson, who hails from Ziguinchor, Senegal, did not own
his first pair of football shoes until he was 16 years old. Despite his rise to
fame, he has not forgotten to help the children in his hometown. During his
time playing for Mirandes and Villarreal in Spain, Jackson would frequently
request old equipment from his teammates, including sneakers, jerseys, socks,
and shin guards. He would then pack these items and bring them back to his
hometown. At the end of each season, Jackson would fill 12 boxes with the
collected equipment and transport them back to be distributed among the
children in his community. The cost of transporting his luggage was reportedly
four times the price of his air ticket. During his tenure at Villarreal,
Jackson’s salary was not particularly high, even lower than when he was loaned
out to Mirandes. In the current season, he has played 31 games for Chelsea,
scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists.
