[Saba Sports News] Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has swiftly risen to prominence with his stellar performances for the national team. Since his international debut, Sarfaraz has showcased his talent in three Test matches for India, accumulating 200 runs with a top score of 68 runs.
However, Sarfaraz’s journey to success has been marked by numerous challenges, and throughout it all, he has found unwavering support from his father. Reflecting on his early career, Sarfaraz recently shared a touching moment where he recited a poem his father often used to inspire him during his domestic cricket days.
Recalling his father’s words, Sarfaraz expressed, “Sometimes we stumble, sometimes we fall and rise, It’s better to keep moving than to sit idle, And even if we walk, may we never bow to strangers’ paths, May we keep walking on our own feet.” This poem served as a guiding light for Sarfaraz, instilling in him the determination to persevere despite obstacles.
Additionally, Sarfaraz revealed the valuable advice his father imparted, urging him to approach domestic matches with the same intensity and commitment as if he were representing India. “My father always told me to perform as if I’m playing for India, whether it’s a domestic match or an international one,” Sarfaraz shared.
Notably, Sarfaraz’s debut Test cap was presented to him by former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble in a heartwarming ceremony attended by his emotional father and wife, marking a significant milestone in his career.
