Due to an injury
sustained early in the competition, Harleen Deol, a batter for the Gujarat
Giants, will not be able to play in the remaining games of the WPL 2024. Bharti
Fulmali, a batter, has taken her place in the squad.
During the Giants’ third group-stage game in Bengaluru against UP Warriorz,
Deol sustained a knee injury. In the opening over of Warriorz’s innings, she
was positioned at sweeper cover and rushed to her right to collect a ball. She
then gripped her left knee. She left the pitch limping and hasn’t been seen
since.
In any case, she
didn’t have a wonderful time in WPL 2024. During the Giants’ season opener,
Deol batted at No. 3 and was struck out for eight. She started as an opener in
the second game and scored 22 off 31 balls. She returned to the No. 3 position
for the match against Warriorz, where she scored 18 out of 24.
The 29-year-old Fulmali, who took her position, represented India in two
Twenty20 Internationals in 2019 and is a domestic cricket player for Vidarbha.
Prior to the WPL, she competed in the Women’s T20 Challenge with the
Trailblazers team.
The Giants’ injury
difficulties are made worse by Deol’s absence. Before the tournament had
started, they lost uncapped fast bowler Kashvee Gautam, and Australia’s Lauren
Cheatle was forced to withdraw due to a medical procedure.
Furthermore, for the past two games, they have been without their vice captain,
Sneh Rana. At the conclusion of the Giants’ league game against Royal
Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday, captain Beth Mooney responded that she was
unsure of Rana’s injury situation.

bottom of the standings, lost their opening four games in the tournament and
had a terrible start. However, they showed improvement in their most recent
encounter, defeating RCB by 19 runs in Delhi. face March 9, they take face the
