Sports News] The French Badminton Open is currently captivating audiences with
its thrilling matches. In a surprising turn of events, Japanese badminton
player Kodai Naraoka, who was a seeded player, was unexpectedly eliminated in
the first round, marking the biggest upset of the tournament. Men’s singles
star Li Zii Jia and women’s singles star Carolina Marin also faced early
eliminations in the tournament. In a post-game interview, Marin candidly
acknowledged feeling increased pressure during the French Badminton Open. She
stated, “I haven’t fully recovered from my injury, and it can be said that
I am far from being in top form. The knee injury sometimes affects me mentally,
making it harder for me to perform as I have in the past.” Marin, a
renowned Spanish women’s singles badminton player, has achieved remarkable
success throughout her career, including winning the World Badminton
Championships three times, capturing the Olympic badminton championship once,
and securing 27 individual event championships. Notably, Marin is the second
non-Asian player to win an Olympic singles title and complete a Grand Slam.
