[Saba Sports News] Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan appeared publicly in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Friday, March 1, following his exclusion from the BCCI’s central contract list for the 2023-24 season.
His absence from the roster came after he reportedly skipped domestic matches. Post the exclusion, Kishan attended the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, who own the Mumbai Indians IPL team, which Kishan is part of.
His last international appearance was in a T20I series against Australia in November, where he scored consecutive half-centuries. He then exited the Indian squad, citing mental fatigue, and did not participate in Jharkhand’s Ranji Trophy campaign, opting to train in Baroda instead. This decision was met with criticism from BCCI secretary Jay Shah, emphasizing the importance of domestic play.
Subsequently, Kishan resumed playing in the DY Patil T20 Cup. Shreyas Iyer also faced a contract exclusion, reportedly for missing a crucial Ranji Trophy match. The Ambani pre-wedding event, featuring celebrities and dignitaries, also saw the presence of cricket luminaries like MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, with Rohit Sharma and a performance by Rihanna enhancing the festivities.
