[Saba Sports News] The Japan Badminton
Association has recently disclosed that it has been facing significant
financial deficits for two consecutive years, amounting to a total of 300
million yen. In light of this, it is anticipated that the association will take
measures to reduce expenses for the national team, including personnel,
training costs, and participation in competitions, following the conclusion of
the Paris Olympics. Notably, the Japanese badminton team boasts strong players
such as Kento Momota, Yamaguchi Akane, Okuhara Nozomi, Matsumoto Mayu/Wakana
Nagahara, and Fukushima Yuki/Hirota Sayaka. However, there is a high likelihood
that these players will withdraw from the national team and not participate in
the next Olympic cycle after the Paris Olympics. With the departure of Japan’s
golden generation, the performance of the Japanese team is expected to decline.
Considering the substantial financial deficit, the Japan Badminton Association
will undoubtedly reduce expenditures, and the professional foreign coaching
staff will also depart. This scenario may lead to a period of China and South
Korea vying for dominance in the international badminton landscape.
