[Saba Sports News] The journey of the often-overlooked Ball brother in professional basketball is still ongoing.
LiAngelo Ball has been signed by Astros de Jalisco, a professional basketball team based in Mexico, as they recently announced. At the age of 25, Ball is set to make his debut with the team in early March, according to the team’s statement.
This latest chapter adds to Ball’s distinctive path through professional basketball. His career began in 2017 with Lithuanian team BC Prienai, followed by a stint in the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), a league initiated by his father, LaVar Ball. LiAngelo also had an opportunity in the NBA G League with the Greensboro Swarm, after participating in the Summer League with the Charlotte Hornets, where his younger brother, LaMelo, shines as a star player. Over two G League seasons (including regular season and showcases), he averaged 5.4 points per game.
While LiAngelo may not have reached NBA-level play, his move to Mexico signifies a continuation of his professional career in a different league, following what has been a significant period for him in the last year or so.
