[Saba Sports News] An Se-young, currently ranked
number one in the world in badminton women’s singles, had an outstanding season
in 2023. She won a total of 10 champions, including the Asian Games
championship, and was honored as the Badminton World Federation’s Player of the
Year. Her remarkable achievements have made her a hero in the eyes of the
Korean people. As a reward, An Se-young received 13 million won from the Korean
Badminton Association. In a recent development, it has been reported by Korean
media that An Se-young has decided to donate the entire amount to primary
schools in order to foster young badminton talent. An Se-young’s philanthropic
gesture has garnered attention from various advertisers who have expressed
interest in working with her. However, she has made the decision to focus
solely on her preparations for the Paris Olympics and will not take on any
commercial endorsements before the Games. She believes that engaging in too
many commercial activities could affect her performance. Additionally, An
Se-young has been dealing with a knee injury since October of the previous
year, which has resulted in her missing some matches. After careful
rehabilitation, she is now in the process of recovery. Currently, she is
preparing for the German Badminton Open, where she holds the top seed position.
