[Saba Sports News] Most of the offseason has passed without a Damian Lillard trade to the Miami Heat, but it seems that talks between the Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers may resume. Shams Charania, speaking on “The Rally” on Monday, expects the two teams to revisit trade discussions regarding Lillard before the start of training camp. Charania also noted that Lillard is open to a trade only to the Miami Heat, not any other team.
The situation in July suggested that the Blazers were not actively pursuing a Lillard trade, mainly because Lillard’s preference for the Heat limited Portland’s ability to secure the best possible return for the All-NBA guard.
Lillard, 33, was the No. 6 overall draft pick by the Blazers in 2012 and is currently under contract for two more seasons, with a deal running through 2024-2025 worth $94.3 million.
