[Saba Sports News] Andre Iguodala, a longtime Golden State Warriors veteran, believes he won’t be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He recently discussed this on “The Old Man and the Three” podcast with JJ Redick and Evan Turner. During the conversation about criteria for assessing the greatest players, Iguodala proposed the idea of having tiers in the Basketball Hall of Fame. He expressed doubt about his own Hall of Fame status, considering players like Kobe and LeBron as being in a different league.
Redick suggested that Iguodala could potentially fit into a hypothetical “Tier 3” of the Hall of Fame. While Iguodala has four NBA championships, a significant career achievement, he also has just one All-Star selection and averaged 11.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game throughout his career. He won the 2015 NBA Finals MVP but was often considered the fourth-best player on the Warriors championship teams.
Iguodala has played 19 NBA seasons, and there are still questions about whether he will continue for a 20th season or retire after 19.
