Kohli is expected to rejoin the team on Monday after flying to Mumbai. The team’s spokesperson and a BCCI source confirmed this. The rest of the team arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on a special aircraft after a four-hour flight on Sunday evening.
Unfortunately, wet weather has been following the team, and their first warm-up game against England was canceled due to rain. The second warm-up game against the Netherlands on Tuesday may also be affected by inclement weather.
On Sunday, intermittent rain was observed in the city. The team has scheduled a practice session for Monday, but it will depend on the weather conditions. So far, three games in the tournament have been affected by rain, including two in Thiruvananthapuram.
India is set to begin their World Cup campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8. The championship is set to kick off on October 5 with a match between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
