[Saba Sports News] Babar Azam-led Pakistan is all set to play international cricket in India after seven years, and that too in the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023, starting on October 5.
This visit also marks Babar’s first trip to India.
The Pakistan cricket team landed on the Indian soil on September 27 at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, where hundreds of fans welcomed the team with utmost love. India, known for its hospitality towards their guests, treated Pakistani players the same way.
Speaking on this, Babar, currently the number one ranked ICC ODI batter, talked about the hospitality his team is receiving in India during the captains’ day event held in Ahmedabad on the eve of the World Cup 2023 opening match.
“It was very good. We got great hospitality, we were not expecting this. Everyone enjoyed it, it’s been a week in Hyderabad. It doesn’t feel like we’re in India but it feels like we’re at home. We enjoyed every bit of it. It’s a golden opportunity for everyone to give their 100 percent and enjoy the tournament,” said Babar.
Pakistan have their first match of the World Cup 2023 scheduled against the Netherlands at the Hyderabad stadium on October 6, followed by two matches against the Asian teams, Sri Lanka and India, on October 10 and 14 respectively.
