[Saba Sports News] Argentinian football star Lionel
Messi has made headlines by joining Inter Miami, becoming the biggest star in
Major League Soccer. Recently, the league announced its nominations for the
annual awards, and Messi, along with Sergio Busquets, was nominated for the MVP
(Most Valuable Player) and Best New Aid categories. However, this nomination
has sparked controversy. Some fans argue that Messi’s performance, which
includes just four league games, one goal, and two assists, is insufficient to
be considered for the MVP award. They feel that such a nomination would be
unfair to other players and would diminish the credibility of the award.
Additionally, some fans suggest that the league itself is seeking attention,
traffic, and exposure, and appointing Messi as the MVP would be equivalent to
using him as a spokesperson.
