[Saba Sports News] Following the expansion of the
World Cup to include 48 teams, FIFA has put forward a new proposal for a
co-hosting model involving six countries. It has been reported that Spain,
Portugal, and Morocco will co-host the 2030 World Cup. In honour of the 100th
edition of the tournament, the first three matches will be held in Argentina,
Uruguay, and Paraguay, respectively. FIFA has provided further details on this
plan, stating that these six countries will automatically qualify for the World
Cup. For Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, hosting a group match and securing
qualification for the 2030 World Cup is seen as a fortuitous opportunity.
However, this arrangement has faced criticism from the other seven FIFA member
states in South America.
