[Saba Sports News] Liverpool’s unfortunate loss to
Tottenham by a score of 1-2 during the seventh round of the Premier League was
marred by a mistaken offside call by the referee, disallowing what should have
been a valid goal for Liverpool. Following the match, Tottenham defender
Cristian Romero took to social media to celebrate the victory. Liverpool
midfielder Alexis Mac Allister expressed his dissatisfaction by leaving a
comment stating, “It’s normal when you have to play against 12
people.” This remark stirred controversy as it was seen as a satirical
reference to the referee being considered the “12th man” favouring
Tottenham on their home turf. Fortunately for McAllister, the British media
reported that he would not face any punishment for his comments. Some fans
argued that since Tottenham was playing at home, the “12th man” could
be interpreted as the supportive crowd rather than the referee.
