[Saba Sports News] The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is in its final stages with the knockouts starting on Wednesday, November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Two heavyweight teams, India and New Zealand, will face each other in semi final 1, while semi final 2 will be played between South Africa and Australia at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Thursday.
Speaking of the upcoming match at Wankhede between the host nation India and New Zealand, the crowd is expected to turn up in huge numbers to support the home team, which last won the World Cup in 2011 at the same venue.
Just like in 2011 when various famous personalities from different fields attended the semi-final bout between India and Pakistan in Mohali, this time a very special overseas personality will grace the Wankhede Stadium with his presence as India takes on the Kiwi challenge.
The renowned former England footballer David Beckham is all set to witness the high-octane World Cup clash between India and New Zealand on Wednesday from the Wankhede stands. Beckham, regarded as one of the greatest of all time in football, will attend the match in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Alongside Beckham, it is also expected that the match will see the attendance of some famous Bollywood actors and actresses.
Speaking of the nearing semi final, it will be the 11th World Cup match between both teams. In the previous 10 matches, the Black Caps have won five games, whereas the Men in Blue managed to secure victory four times, and one fixture ended in no-result.
