Sports News] Recent news from Indian media reports the arrest of a badminton
coach named Bullen in India. Bullen was employed as a teacher at a local
badminton training academy. It is alleged that he coerced a 17-year-old female
student in his training class into sending him private photos under the threat
of preventing her from competing. Fortunately, the female student did not
comply with the coach’s demands and instead reported the incident to the
police. According to the student, the coach not only targeted her for explicit
photos but also approached several other students in the same class, engaging
in similar inappropriate behavior. The arrested badminton coach had previously
achieved success by winning a gold medal in the Indian Intercontinental
Badminton Competition. Following his retirement, he began working as a coach at
the Solipalayam Badminton Training Academy. As of now, the academy has not
issued a response regarding this matter. It is important to note that in India,
sexual assault of underage girls is considered a grave offense. Although the
female student in this case was not sexually assaulted, the potential
consequences could have been unimaginable had she succumbed to the coach’s
manipulative instructions.
